YENI AKIT NEWSPAPER VISITS RECTOR ÇOMAKLI

Mustafa Karahasanoğlu, the executive president of Yeni Akit Newspaper, visited Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, the rector of Atatürk University, in his office.

Pointing to the importance of written and visual media during the warm visit, Rector Çomaklı said that the media have an important mission to inform the public as well as to keep the public posted. Emphasizing that the importance of the media in the development of the societies is undeniable, Rector Çomaklı stated: “Today, the mission of the media is beyond the mission of keeping the people posted. In our day when the technology has become popular, the media are also a tool of getting ourselves informed. The confirmation of the information the people reach through the social media is only possible thanks to the organisations that have reliable sources, that act upon the reporting principles, and that pay regard to the ethical values in the meanwhile. I congratulate Yeni Akit Newspaper for its efforts that concerns itself with the problems in not only our country but also all around the Muslim world and that does not hesitate to utter them, and I thank Mustafa Karahasanoğlu, the executive president of Yeni Akit Newspaper, for his visit.”

Expressing that Atatürk University has a long-standing background, President Mustafa Karahasanoğlu stated that faculties of Communication are the institutions which supply media organs and that Atatürk University has such a faculty, well-equipped technically and academically in accordance with this mission. And, pointing out that the support Atatürk University gives the countries, particularly Palestine, which are oppressed, deserves admiration, Mustafa Karahasanoğlu, the executive president of Yeni Akit Newspaper, thanked Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, the rector of Atatürk University, for his hospitality.
